Common Questions

Q. How are you different than other financial advisors, stock brokers and insurance agents?
A:     We help people potentially create more wealth and obtain more protection, ideally without any additional out-of-pocket outlay or risk.  We also serve as counselors and advisors to help people implement strategies.  Much of our process is educational—teaching financial strategies that increase the efficiency of money.  Our financial “tool box” is full … we are able to use a variety of financial “tools” to solve problems or accomplish objectives.

Q. How are WFG advisors compensated?
A:     We are a “performance-based” firm.   If you find our ideas worthwhile and you choose to implement them, then we typically receive a commission for placing your business with a financial institution.  All that we ask is that you allow us to shop the market for the financial products you choose to implement. A second step is that we ask you to help us meet other people.  As you find our services helpful, we encourage you to help others by making an introduction to one of our advisors.  This allows us to focus our energies on our clients and their friends, family, and associates.  It also gives you a good feeling for helping someone you respect and admire.

Q. How much money do I have to have to work with you?
A:     We don't look at assets as the determinate in whether we work together. When we have an introductory meeting, the investigation flows both ways. You need to evaluate whether you want to work with us, just as we have to evaluate whether we want to work with you. Each advisor at Woolman Financial Group has a clear understanding of who we can best help. Factors we consider are: attitudes, personalities, career or business path, ease of communication, demographic information (such as age, family status, education), teachable interest, expectations, dreams, values, assets, and income. If we can determine that another WFG advisor or another firm would be better able to assist you, then we will express that. We serve our existing clients best by being selective as we add new clients. It is a mutual journey to determine if we are a good match for a long-term business relationship.

Q. If I'm in debt is that a problem working with you?
A:     It may not be. If we determine there is a desire to improve a situation and we can provide significant help, we often will work hard to help an individual or family turn the corner on their debt. If a consumer debt counselor would be more helpful, we will make that suggestion. Many times, we are able to help people with significant debt by giving them ideas they have not considered. Sometimes it is helpful to have a fresh look at a situation. Our Economic Model and Cash Flow Management booklet often help us identify how we can make significant improvements in a situation where there is sizeable debt.

Q. Am I too old to start?
A:     No. We help people of every age deal with their financial issues. As people mature, it becomes increasingly important to make sure all aspects are aligned correctly. Some of our favorite clients are mature seniors.

Q. Is my personal or business information confidential with WFG?
A:     Yes! We will never discuss your personal or business information with anyone other than you and our team unless we have prior permission to do so. Not only will it be confidential, but we also spend a lot of time insuring that we always use password protection, secure web page, and very secure internet and email connectivity.
